DORAKO Fleet & Logistics is a reliable fleet and logistics company providing safe and timely truck transportation services. With experienced drivers and dependable trucks, we help move goods efficiently and keep businesses running smoothly. 

Opportunity

DORAKO Fleet & Logistics is seeking for a qualified professional to occupy the role of a Business Development Officer who will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building client relationships, and driving revenue growth for the company’s logistics services.

Duties and Responsibilities 

The hired candidate will be responsible for the following:  

1. Business Development & Sales

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in logistics, transport and equipment 
  • Develop and implement strategies to grow the company’s client base 
  • Prepare and deliver proposals, quotations, and tenders 
  • Negotiate contracts and close deals

2. Client Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients 
  • Serve as the main point of contact for key accounts 
  • Ensure high customer satisfaction and retention 
  • Handle client inquiries, complaints, and feedback 

3. Market Research & Intelligence

  • Conduct market research to identify trends and opportunities 
  • Analyze competitors and pricing strategies 
  • Provide insights to support strategic decision-making 

4. Tendering & Contract Management

  • Identify and respond to relevant tenders and bids 
  • Prepare documentation and ensure compliance with requirements 
  • Track contract performance and ensure obligations are met 

5. Revenue Growth & Targets

  • Achieve assigned sales and revenue targets 
  • Monitor sales performance and pipeline 
  • Develop strategies to increase market share 

6. Collaboration with Operations

  • Work closely with the logistics and operations team to ensure service delivery 
  • Align client requirements with fleet availability (trucks and equipment) 
  • Ensure smooth onboarding of new clients 

7. Reporting & Documentation

  • Maintain records of leads, opportunities, and client interactions 
  • Prepare regular sales and business development reports 
  • Track key performance metrics and pipeline progress 

8. Branding & Promotion

  • Support marketing initiatives and brand visibility 
  • Represent the company at industry events, meetings, and exhibitions 
  • Promote the company’s logistics and equipment services

Required Skills or Experience

Qualification Required & Experience

  • At least a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Logistics or a tertiary education in related field. 
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets 
  • Candidate must have at least three years (excluding national service) in business development or sales (logistics, transport, or equipment rental preferred).
  • Candidates without these years of experience will be automatically rejected.  
  • Must be fluent in English, with strong written and oral communication skills.   
  • Candidate must be proactive, dedicated, performance-driven, and capable of working with limited supervision.  
  • The candidate must demonstrate experience as a team player.  
  • The candidate must be assertive, a good listener, critical thinker and self-motivated.  
  • Skillful at planning and organizing under complex conditions. 

The candidate must have:

  • Strong sales and negotiation skills 
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills 
  • Relationship-building and networking ability 
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving 
  • Ability to work independently and meet targets 
  • Good understanding of logistics and fleet operations 

Duration

The position will be for a period of 1 year, subject to yearly renewal, and contingent on good performance, and availability of funding for the role.  

Work Location

  • DORAKO Fleet & Logistics, Westlands, Greater Accra.
