THESA Health Ghana Limited (a subsidiary of THESA Health Partners) is a company focused on enhancing the resilience of Africa’s health systems. With its planned launch in Ghana to serve the Ghanaian and African market, the company seeks to achieve the following:  

  • Market and distribute medical consumables and equipment 
  • Establish facilities for specialized medical services 
  • Establish a plant for the local manufacturing of key medical consumables and vaccines in Ghana

In view of these, the company is forming a local team for its intended mission

Position Overview

The Business Development Officer will be part of the company’s team to generate partnership and sales opportunities. The role combines research, networking, innovation, and strategic forward thinking to secure opportunities for the growth of this new company in the health sector of Ghana and Africa. This role is best suited for someone who loves a combination of field and office/desk work.

Key Responsibilities

1. Deal Origination & Business Development

  • Identify suppliers of medical consumables and equipment in Asia and Europe for marketing and distribution deals in Ghana and West Africa. 
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in medical consumables and equipment supply in Ghana, and West Africa. 
  • Develop and implement strategies and offers/tenders/proposals to grow the company’s client base 
  • Identify and respond to relevant tenders and bids with other team members
  • Represent the company at industry events, meetings/stakeholder engagements, and exhibitions 

2. Client Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and suppliers aimed at ensuring customer satisfaction, retention an addressing complaints and feedback. 

3. Market Research & Intelligence

  • Conduct market research to identify trends and opportunities 
  • Analyze competitors and pricing strategies 
  • Provide insights to support strategic decision-making 

Required Skills or Experience

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, Public Health or related field which equips the candidate for the work described above. 
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in business development or sales 
  • Previous experience in working within the health sector will be highly valued
  • A good understanding or network of the stakeholders/actors of Ghana’s health sector
