PEG delivers Pay-As-You-Go (PAYG) asset-based financing to consumers who lack both access to reliable electricity and formal banking services. PEG’s anchor product - a basic solar home system that includes six lights, a phone charger, a radio, and a TV - allows consumers living on $5-10 per day to access clean light for working and studying after hours, avoid harmful air pollution from kerosene based lighting solutions, and also build credit for additional products and services over time.
To date, PEG has raised over $45 million and has over 450 full time staff across Ghana, Ivory Coast and Senegal. PEG has also won numerous awards, including the prestigious 2017 Ashden International Award for excellence in sustainable energy, and was named as one of the “fastest growing companies in Africa” by the London Stock Exchange.
The Position
The New Growth Sales Manager is responsible for executing the agreed Group strategy for each new growth initiative taking into account both the local market context and market specific opportunities
Responsibilities Includes:

Identifying the right channels to market for the agreed product portfolio and defining the optimum Route to Consumer for each New Growth product range

Defining the organisational resource required to deliver the New Growth plans and getting alignment to deploy

Achievement of the company’s New Growth monthly/quarterly/annual sales revenue plan by product category/channel

Management of the New Growth customer Cost to Acquire at or below the agreed target cost

Management of credit loans across New Growth product portfolios and channels within the agreed parameters

Work closely with the Marketing Manager to develop and implement a local Marketing strategy/programme of activities which supports delivery of the key New Growth objectives

Coach and mentor all direct reports to maximise their effectiveness and ensure delivery of the agreed KPIs/objectives

Developing strategies to upsell New Growth product line to existing PEG customer base.
The successful candidate must have:
-
At least 7 years in a dynamic and professional business environment as a Product Manager with at least 2 years of Field Sales/Business Development experience (preferably telecom or FMCG)

Demonstrable success in delivering strong business growth in a profitable manner for a defined product portfolio

Strong business development skills, a can-do attitude and a willingness to roll up the sleeves and get fully involved at the heart of the business

The ability to work in a fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous environment and still prioritise and deliver the core KPIs

Comfortable managing relationships at all levels in the business and externally, a strong and articulate communicator

Data driven with strong analytical skills
