Japan International Cooperation Agency is now seeking qualified and experienced staff as follows: Programme Specialist in the Health Sector.
Position: Programme Specialist in Health and its related sectors, 1 person.
Job Responsibilities
Strategic Planning
- Analyze and identify challenges and development trends of the responsible sector, proposing solutions aligned with both JICA's and Ghana's policies, strategies and plans
- Monitor and analyze sector specific trends including government policies and initiatives, development partner (DP) coordination efforts and major multilateral/bilateral donor activities that may influence JICA's operations
- Contribute and provide technical inputs to the development and planning process of JICA's programmes in the responsible sector
- Provide advice to management, section leaders and members on strategic direction of JICA Ghana's operations within the national government policy direction and emerging trends in the country

Project Management and Coordination
- Engage in project formulation, planning and monitoring and evaluation of projects
- Coordinate, align and harmonise JICA projects with other related projects
- Provide technical support for maximizing positive impacts of ongoing projects
- Engage and negotiate with government counterparts of smooth implementation of projects
- Build and maintain relationship with DPs, private sectors and other stakeholders and leverage such partnership for greater impacts
- Manage logistical and administrative arrangements necessary for smooth implementation of projects
- Provide technical advice to Liberia Field Office and Sierra Leone Office based on the experience of JICA's operations in Ghana
Others
- Leverage JICA's schemes including training programmes, volunteer programmes and other schemes toward making collective impacts
- Work with public relation team for publicing JICA's activities to the Ghanaian public media and any other stakeholders
- Undertake other tasks, which are not limited to the responsible sector, as assigned by Chief Representative
Employment Period
- One (1) year (A probationary period lasting six months from the day of recruitment)
- Renewable upon satisfactory performance
Qualification Required & Experience
- Bachelor's or higher degree in Commerce, Economics, Sociology and other Social Sciences
- Adequate and proper business manner, discipline, strong interpersonal skills, demonstrated cultural sensitivity.
- Experience and ability to work in a team with strong interpersonal skills to develop and establish good relationships with colleagues, supervisors and external counterparts
- Excellent PC skills, especially in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint for producing business/official documents, letters and reports as well as presentations
- At least 5 (five) years of working experience in the related areas (e.g., Enterprise Business Development (especially SMEs), Start-up Ecosystem development, Investment Promotion, Industrial Development, Trade, Economy, Business Related Law, Public–Private Partnership)

Desirable Qualifications & Experiences
- Working experience within government organization, Donor Organizations and/or International private companies/organization in the above related sectors
- Bachelor's or master's degree abroad in Commerce, Economics, Sociology and other Social Sciences
