GTBank Ghana is seeking an experienced Applications Development candidate to provide strategic leadership and oversight for the Bank's applications development function. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving the design, development, implementation and maintenance of software applications that support the Bank's operations.
This role involves leading a team of application development professionals and collaborating with key stakeholders to deliver innovative technology solutions
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to align application development initiatives with the bank's business objectives, digital transformation agenda, and long-term technology strategy
- People Leadership: Proven ability to lead, motivate, mentor and develop high-performing teams while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning
- Stakeholder Management: Strong relationship management skills with the ability to engage business units, senior management, vendors and technology partners effectively
- Decision-Making & Problem-Solving: Ability to make sound technical and operational decisions, manage risks and resolve complex issues in a timely manner
- Project & Delivery Management: Strong capability to oversee multiple projects, manage resources effectively and ensure the successful delivery of technology solutions within agreed timelines and budgets
- Communication & Influence: Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into business language and influence key stakeholders
- Results Orientation: Demonstrated ability to drive performance, achieve strategic objectives and deliver measurable business value through technology

Qualification Required & Experience
Knowledge, Skills and Competencies
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java,NET, Python, JavaScript or other relevant development tools
- Strong knowledge of database technologies including SQL server, Oracle, MySQL or PostgreSQL
- Experience in web application development and API integration
- Understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) methodologies
- Knowledge of information security principles and banking technology environments
- High level of integrity, professionalism and attention to detail
- A minimum of 5 years relevant experience in application development and support
