The Network Manager at Jumia is responsible for the simultaneous coordination and operational oversight of the Sorting Center, Reverse Logistics, and Transport operations within Jumia Supply Chain. Reporting directly to the Head of Logistics, this role manages stock movements, optimizes outbound transport costs, tracks queues, and leads logistics teams to ensure efficient parcel dispatch and end-to-end SLA compliance.

What you will be doing:

  • Multi-Unit Operational Oversight: Supervise daily operations across the Sorting Center, Reverse Logistics, and Transport, ensuring outgoing parcels follow FIFO processes to improve customer delivery timelines.
  • Network & Queue Management: Track operational backlogs, monitor quality standards, and coordinate delivery capacity and frequency with dispatch agents and 3PL partners.
  • Cost & Route Optimization: Optimize outbound item flows and shipping routes to reduce overall transport cost per package shipped.
  • Workforce & Team Leadership: Directly lead and train Sorting Center and Transportation Managers, oversee teams, handle administrative management, and ensure site security monitoring.
  • Process Improvement & Projects: Implement continuous improvement projects, roll out scalable operational processes, and build dashboards to monitor key network performance metrics.
  • Field Alignment & Travel: Conduct field activities, carry out regional travel to logistics nodes, and collaborate with internal departments (HSE, Security, Facilities) and external partners.

What we are looking for:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

  • Professional Experience: Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in logistics, manufacturing, production, or distribution environments.

  • Core Competencies: Proven ability to manage large and remote operational teams, strong project management skills, and excellent interpersonal/diplomatic capabilities.

  • Technical Skills: High analytical ability with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, Drive).

  • Attributes: A highly structured, methodical, and results-oriented mindset with the flexibility to adapt to changing processes and operational needs.
