The Institute of Green Growth Solutions is looking for qualified and highly experienced individuals to fill the position of a Forest Officer.
Job Summary
The company is seeking to employ a highly experienced Forest Officer to lead, plan, and supervise reforestation projects aimed at restoring degraded landscapes and enhancing forest cover. The role involves coordinating the implementation of reforestation activities, ensuring the selection of appropriate tree species, and overseeing site preparation, planting, and maintenance to support long-term ecosystem recovery. The successful candidate will also be responsible for monitoring project progress, ensuring environmental compliance, and promoting sustainable land-use practices.

Additional responsibilities include working with local communities, stakeholders, and technical teams to ensure successful project delivery, while safeguarding biodiversity, improving soil health, and supporting climate resilience across project areas.
Required Skills or Experience
- Minimum of two (2) years of proven experience as a Forest Officer or in a similar role within the forestry or environmental sector.
- Bachelor’s degree in Forestry, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Fluency in spoken Ewe, with strong interpersonal and community engagement skills.
- Practical experience in mangrove restoration, including nursery establishment, site preparation, planting, maintenance, and monitoring of mangrove ecosystems.
Key Skills and Competencies
- Strong knowledge of silviculture, species selection, and reforestation methods.
- Ability to design, coordinate, and supervise reforestation activities effectively.
- Strong communication skills for working with communities, partners, and field teams.
- Ability to track project progress, assess tree survival, and produce clear reports.
- Experience guiding field staff, contractors, and community groups to ensure successful project delivery.
