JOB DESCRIPTION
OBJECTIVES OF THE POSITION:
To direct field and laboratory teams in the collection and analysis of expenmental samples and data for research projects
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Carries out testing and standardization of technical equipment
- Assists in the interpretation of analysed data for annual reports and other publications
- Coordinates the technical activities of the various research teams of the division
- Writes concise technical reports for annual reports and other publications
- Supervises immediate subordinates to ensure that time. quality and other standards are adhered to
- Assist in cutting boundary lines for new experimental plots
- Supervises sharpening of pegs for lining and pegging
- Enters data for computer analysis

- Prepares chemical reagents and media for laboratory trials
- Collect experimental data on flower set after pollination, pod maturity, disease end pest incidence
- Performs any other duties assigned from time to time
SKILLS
- Strong analysis and logical reasoning skills
- Foster relationships and teamwork skills
- Excellent communication skills both written and oral
QUALIFICATION
- Master's Degree in Agriculture/Agronomy/Extension from a recognised university
- Knowledge in computer applications
