A manufacturing company based in Accra invites applications from suitably-qualified and experienced persons for the following position: Accountant
Job Summary
Reporting to the Finance Director, the qualifying candidate will work closely with other members of the Accounts department in providing timely, accurate, informative and reliable information for control, performance evaluation and decision-making.
Job Responsibilities
- Accurate and timely preparation of Financial Statements: i.e. preparing monthly, quarterly, half-yearly and full year management accounts for the company
- Budget planning and preparation
- Budgetary control
- Regular review of product costing/pricing
- Supervising and/or ensuring timely and accurate monthly Inventory accounting and reconciliation
- Supervising and/or ensuring timely and accurate monthly Sales and Debtors reconciliation

- Monitoring capital expenditure/fixed assets management
- Supervising and/or ensuring compliance with all statutory requirements including the preparation and submission of monthly statutory returns
- Assisting in the training and development of other team members
- Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time
Remuneration: Attractive but negotiable salary based on qualifications and experience.
Required Skills or Experience
- Must possess at least, a strong HND (Accounting Option) or a First Degree holder in Accounting/Finance plus a professional accounting qualification (Final Stage or preferably, Qualified)
- At least, five (5) years of strong, progressive and relevant experience
- Rich experience in a manufacturing environment and understanding of manufacturing accounts will be an added advantage
- Professional attitude with excellent attention to detail, ability to think outside the box and deadline-oriented
- Team player who can work effectively with departmental colleagues and other business lines of the organization
- Knowledge in the use of accounting software, preferably Sage Accpac, will be an added advantage
- High Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite
- Self-motivated and ability to work effectively without direct supervision
- Ability to work under pressure and for long hours with time constraints and set work priorities
- Possess and demonstrate excellent analytical, communication, interpersonal and leadership skills
- Management Accountants are strongly encouraged to apply
- The ideal candidate must not be more than 40 years old
