Established in 2006, MSI Ghana is an affiliate of MSI Reproductive Choices and one of the largest specialized Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) organizations in Ghana. MSIG complements the Ministry of Health by providing quality, affordable general health and SRH services across all regions of Ghana.

MSI Ghana invites applications from qualified, experienced, and commercially driven professionals for the position of Clinical Quality Advisor.

  • Reporting Line: Director Medical Services (dotted line to PSS Manager)
  • Probation: 3 months
  • Contract: One (1) year, renewable based on performance

THE ROLE

The Clinical Quality Advisor is responsible for providing supportive clinical supervision and focused clinical trainings across all service delivery channels in the assigned region. The role ensures that client-centered services are delivered according to MSIG clinical quality standards. The post-holder will travel to service delivery points to monitor, mentor, and train MSI Centre Teams, and Public Sector Strengthening Teams.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Quality Leadership & Supervision

  • Conduct routine supportive supervision visits to centres, outreach, and PSS facilities, ensuring compliance with MSIG clinical protocols.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor action plans in response to supervision findings, ensuring measurable improvements in service quality.
  • Track and report on key quality indicators such as compliance with clinical standards, infection prevention and control (IPC), and client satisfaction.

Capacity Building & Competency Development

  • Design and deliver targeted clinical training and mentorship sessions, including competency assessments and certification for service providers.
  • Strengthening provider capacity to deliver high-quality, client-centered SRH services across channels.
  • Monitor the impact of training interventions on service delivery performance and provide recommendations for improvement.

Quality Assurance & Data-Driven Decision Making

  • Lead clinical quality assurance initiatives and ensure accurate, timely reporting of clinical metrics.
  • Use clinical data to identify trends, gaps, and risks, providing actionable insights to improve service delivery.
  • Collaborate with Regional Managers and the Medical Development Team to align QA interventions with organizational goals.

Programme & Operational Support

  • Work closely with stores, logistics, and service delivery teams to ensure consistent availability of high-quality products, supplies, and equipment.
  • Manage clinical and product-related incidents, ensuring timely resolution and documentation.
  • Promote proper use of MSIG information systems to support monitoring, reporting, and learning.

Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration

  • Provide constructive feedback to service providers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Liaise with internal teams and external partners to support high-quality service delivery and compliance with regulations.
  • Act as a clinical quality resource for regional teams, supporting decision-making and operational improvements.

Required Skills or Experience

Qualifications & Experience

  • Recognized clinical qualification in Midwifery.
  • First Degree in a related discipline; master’s degree in public health/Reproductive Health or Health Education is an advantage.
  • Registered with a recognized local clinical professional body in Ghana and in good standing.
  • Minimum of five (5) years post-graduation experience in Midwifery and at least five (5) years practical experience in supportive clinical supervision in SRH.
  • Proven experience in quality assurance, training, and competency assessment.
  • Computer literate, with ability to prepare and present training slides and reports.
  • Excellent provider-client interaction, counselling, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of the Ghanaian health delivery system, with strong analytical and reporting abilities.
  • Must be pro-choice, client-focused, and passionate about maternal health.

  • Measurable improvement in clinical quality performance across centres and PSS facilities, aligned with MSIG and global quality standards.
  • Routine supportive supervision embedded, with action plans consistently implemented and tracked to completion.
  • Strengthening provider competency and adherence to clinical protocols through targeted training and mentorship.
  • Reduction in clinical incidents and improved compliance with IPC standards.
  • Clinical data and quality insights are actively used to drive decision-making, improve service delivery, and strengthen overall programme performance.
