Role Overview
The Partnerships & Fundraising Associate is responsible for raising funds for Crowdpen and its programs, including (but not limited to):
- The Creators Fund
- Fellowships (Pathfinders, African Voices)
- Creative Chaos events and festivals
- Platform and ecosystem development
- Special projects under the Crowdpen umbrella
This role is ideal for someone who understands people, persuasion, and purpose and is comfortable raising money for both ideas and products.
You will actively engage donors, supporters, partners, and patrons who believe in creators, culture, and global opportunity.
Immediate Start:
We have an active fundraising campaign closing February 28. The right candidate can begin outreach within 48 hours of joining and earn their first commission this month.

Key Responsibilities
1. Donor Prospecting & Outreach
- Identify and engage potential donors
- Build and maintain a personal pipeline of prospective donors
- Segment outreach based on donor type:
- individual patrons
- creators
- diaspora professionals
- cultural supporters
- brands and operators
2. Fundraising & Relationship Building
- Communicate Crowdpen’s mission, vision, and programs clearly
- Raise funds across multiple tiers (micro, mid-level, and high-value donors)
- Secure:
- one-time donations
- recurring monthly or quarterly support
- Build long-term relationships with donors for repeat giving
3. Program-Specific Fundraising
- Raise funds for specific initiatives such as:
- creator grants and challenges
- fellowships and mentorship programs
- events and festivals
- platform development phases
- Tailor pitches based on program goals and donor alignment
4. Tracking & Reporting
- Maintain simple records of:
- contacts made
- conversations held
- funds raised
- Attribute donations accurately for commission tracking
- Share brief weekly updates on progress and insights
5. Feedback & Strategic Input
- Share donor feedback, objections, and patterns
- Contribute insights on:
- what messaging resonates
- emerging donor segments
- partnership opportunities
- Suggest improvements to fundraising materials and approach
