Amplio Ghana is licensed to operate as a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) in Ghana. The organization was established in 2011 under the name Literacy Bridge Ghana (LBG). In 2020, the name was changed to Amplio Ghana.  The organization specializes in the design, implementation and evaluation of social impact programmes including social and behaviour change communication (SBCC) interventions. Our work cut across several sectors including health, education, agriculture, climate change, child protection, peace and security, youth empowerment, women empowerment, nutrition, WASH etc.

Also, the organization develops and promote the use of the Amplio Talking Book technology for social and behaviour change programmes within and outside Ghana. From 2011 to 2024, the organization served as country office of Amplio Network--USA in Ghana. Following the dissolution of Amplio Network-USA in December 2024, the organization has taken over the implementation of Talking Book projects globally. Since inception, we have worked on several projects with funding from; USAID, UNICEF, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, GIZ, Global Affairs Canada, ARM, VOLO Foundation, Global Fund and STAR Ghana Foundation. ;

Amplio’s mission is to empower the world’s most vulnerable communities through knowledge sharing. Over the last 5 years, the organization has reached some 2 Million+ people in Ghana.

Job Description

  • Paid internship - Finance and Administrative Intern
  • Duration of contract: 6 months with the possibility of an extension
  • Reporting to: Finance and Administrative Intern
  • Workstation: Wa, Upper West Region
  • Vacancies: 1 position

About the position

The Finance and Administrative Intern shall assist the Head of the Finance and Administrative office to maintain sound financial accounting and management systems and practices for the prudent management of Amplio Ghana funds. You would join a close-knit team that values learning, respect, responsibility, transparency, and partnership.

Key Responsibilities

Administrative:

  • Carry out the administrative functions of the Wa office including supervision of the cleaner and overseeing logistical arrangements for the smooth operation of the office.
  • Manage office supplies including keeping accurate records and regularly checking stock levels to ensure timely replenishment.  
  • Maintain an updated filing system for all Amplio Ghana’s staff and correspondences. 
  • Maintain a logbook for all visitors coming to the Wa office and facilitate their official engagements.
  • Participate in Amplio team meetings.
  • Perform any other administrative task assigned by the supervisor.

Accounting/Finance:

  • Receive and review all staff funds requests to ensure there are devoid of errors and facilitate approvals by FAM and Country Director.
  • Prepare error-free payment vouchers (PVs) and cheques for all approved fund requests as well as issue signed cheques to staff and vendors and when necessary, make bank withdrawals on behalf of management.
  • Ensure all approved funds requests and payment vouchers and liquidations are timely filed (both electronically and hard copies).
  • Record financial transactions into QuickBooks.
  • Facilitate petty cash approvals, monitor the minimum threshold level and ensure timely replenishment of cash.
  • Undertake banking errands.
  • Perform any other finance/accounting task assigned by the supervisor.

Required Skills or Experience

Skills/Qualifications
  • Must have at least a HND in accounting/finance or any other related field.
  • A good knowledge of QuickBooks is an added advantage.
  • NGO work experience is an added advantage. 
  • Ability to work in a team and contribute to organizational team building. 
  • Very good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to ride a motorbike (A licensed rider).
Compensation
  • Monthly allowance similar to National Service allowance.
