The Role                                     

  • Manage graphic design proposals from typesetting through to design, print and production
  • Brief and advise on design style, format, print production and timescales
  • Develop concepts, graphics and layouts for product illustrations, company logos, and websites
  • Determine size and arrangement of illustrative material and copy, and font style and size
  • Prepare rough drafts of material based on an agreed brief
  • Review layouts and suggest improvements
  • Liaise with external printers regularly to ensure deadlines are met and material is printed to the highest quality
  • Leads the design of graphics, visualisations and written documents suited to particular audiences and purposes
  • Produces high-quality artwork appropriate for different media and technological constraints
  • Leads and is responsible for all photography and videography requirements of the institution.

Required Skills or Experience

Qualification and Experience

  • Minimum of a Higher National Diploma in Graphic Design or similar qualification. A First Degree will be an advantage  
  • Good knowledge of Web Designing, Photography and Videography 
  • Good knowledge of industry-standard design software, such as InDesign or Illustrator, plus photo editing, including Photoshop
  • Familiarity with online publication and web technologies (e.g., HTML + CSS)
