Job Description
- JOB GRADE SUPERVISOR
- LINE MANAGER HEAD OF OPERATIONS
Purpose Statement
The Operations Supervisor ensures smooth, safe, and efficient daily operations of the LPG tank farm. This role involves overseeing the storage, dispatch, and distribution of LPG, coordinating operational staff, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Key Deliverables
Operations Management
1. Daily Operations:
- Supervise daily activities, including LPG receiving, storage, and loading operations.
- Monitor tank levels, dispatch schedules, and ensure timely delivery to customers.
- Oversee the functionality of equipment and ensure all systems are in working order.
2. Resource Allocation:
- Allocate tasks to team members and ensure the availability of resources required for smooth operations.
- Monitor and manage workforce performance to meet operational targets.
3. Coordination:
- Collaborate with the maintenance team to address any equipment or system malfunctions.
- Liaise with logistics and distribution teams to manage dispatch and delivery schedules.
Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE)
1. Safety Compliance:
- Ensure that all operations adhere to the tank farm’s HSE policies and industry safety standards.
- Conduct safety checks and ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
2. Emergency Response:
- Lead on-site emergency responses, such as fire drills, leak containment, and first-aid measures.
- Report and investigate incidents, accidents, or near-misses, and implement corrective actions.
Quality and Regulatory Compliance
1. Regulatory Standards:
- Ensure compliance with local and international standards for LPG storage and handling.
- Maintain accurate documentation for audits, inspections, and regulatory filings.
2. Operational Standards:
- Enforce adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality control measures.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities to enhance efficiency.
Team Leadership
1. Supervision and Training:
- Supervise and mentor operations staff, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Conduct training sessions for team members on safety protocols, equipment handling, and operational procedures.
2. Performance Monitoring:
- Evaluate the performance of team members and provide feedback to improve productivity.
- Support employee engagement initiatives to foster a motivated and high-performing team.

Required Skills or Experience
Minimum Qualification/ Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
- Experience: 5+ years of operational experience in an LPG tank farm, oil & gas facility, or a similar industrial environment.
- Certifications: HSE certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA) or relevant industry-specific training are highly desirable.
Knowledge / Skills
- Strong knowledge of LPG storage, dispatch, and distribution processes.
- Excellent understanding of HSE standards and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills for quick decision-making.
- Proficiency in using operational and monitoring tools (e.g., SCADA systems).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for team and stakeholder coordination.
