Job Description

• Department/Division: Program Development
• Reports to: Program Manager
• Work Location: Bolga, Upper East Ghana
• Authorized to work in: Ghana 
• Target Hiring Salary: Starting from GHS 11,000 per month/annum (before taxes) 
• Target Start Date: As soon as possible
• Contract Duration: Full-time/ 1-year contract with possibility of renewal based on performance and availability of funding

Role Summary:

The Health Specialist (SHARE Project) serves as the in-country strategic technical lead for Right To Play Ghana’s health programming, with a focus on Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR), Psychosocial Support (PSS), and wellbeing education. The position provides strategic leadership for the SHARE Project and supports integration of health priorities across Right To Play’s programming.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

#1: Strategic Planning, Program Design and Implementation (30%)

• Lead health and wellbeing context analyses and integrate findings into the Country Strategy
• Advise on technical design of health-focused programming and proposals
• Provide technical support to adapt and deliver SRHR education in schools and communities
• Support learning and improvement in health programming through data and collaboration

#2: Monitoring, Evaluation, Learning and Reporting (20%)

• Provide technical support on SRHR-related indicators and data collection
• Contribute to program learning, adaptation, and reporting
• Collaborate with MERL teams to improve quality of implementation
• Prepare technical reports and knowledge products

#3: Capacity Strengthening and Technical Support (20%)

• Assess and build capacity of staff, partners and stakeholders in health programming
• Design and deliver training and support tools on SRHR, wellbeing, and youth advocacy

#4: Networking, Partnerships and Advocacy (25%)

• Engage in national and regional working groups on SRHR
• Build partnerships with government, CSOs, and other SRHR actors
• Represent Right To Play in national forums to advocate for child and adolescent health
• Support collective advocacy efforts and resource mobilization

#5: Other Tasks as Assigned (5%)

Required Skills or Experience

Expertise (Education, Professional Experience)

• Master’s degree in public health, Population Studies, Medicine, or a related field.
• Formal training in SRHR and public health are preferred.
• Minimum five years’ experience in SRHR and PSS program implementation
• Strong experience with adolescent/youth health, strategic planning, and stakeholder engagement
• Experience with government systems, donor-funded projects (e.g. Global Affairs Canada, UNFPA)
• Experience with health data systems, training and capacity building
