Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and people-focused HR Manager to join our growing team. As the sole HR professional in a small but dynamic company, you will be responsible for overseeing and executing all aspects of human resources — from recruitment and employee relations to policy development and compliance. This is a hands-on role that requires both strategic thinking and day-to-day HR operations management.

Key Responsibilities:

Recruitment & Onboarding:

  • Lead end-to-end recruitment, including job postings, screening, interviews, and hiring.
  • Coordinate and enhance new employee onboarding and orientation programs.

Employee Relations & Engagement:

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to management on HR policies, performance issues, and conflict resolution.
  • Drive employee engagement initiatives and foster a positive workplace culture.

HR Policy & Compliance:

  • Develop, update, and implement HR policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations (e.g., FLSA, FMLA, OSHA, etc.).

Team Building and Workplace Culture Development:

  • Team Offsites or Retreats
  • Values-Based Workshops
  • Volunteer Days or Charity Drives
  • Peer Recognition and Awards Ceremonies
  • Monthly Team Lunches or Happy Hours
  • End of Year and Birthday Celebrations

Payroll & Benefits Administration:

  • Liaise with payroll and benefits providers; manage employee enrollments and changes.
  • Answer employee questions related to compensation, benefits, and time off.

Training & Development:

  • Identify training needs and coordinate learning opportunities.
  • Support professional development and internal growth initiatives.

HR Data & Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data.
  • Provide reports and metrics to support decision-making.
  • Procure and maintain biometric time reporting.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of progressive HR experience; experience in a small business or startup is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of labor laws and HR best practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with HRIS systems preferred.
  • HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus.
