Role summary

The Compensation and Benefits Specialist supports the administration of KEDA (Ghana) Ceramics Company Limited’s employee compensation and benefits programs. The role helps maintain accurate pay and benefits information and supports employees with routine questions. The position reports to the Compensation and Benefits Supervisor.

Key responsibilities

  • Prepare and calculate monthly salaries for thousands of employees, checking payroll inputs and supporting data for accuracy and resolving discrepancies with Payroll before processing
  • Administer routine compensation and benefits activities, including salary changes, benefits enrollment, leave records, and related employee documentation.
  • Maintain accurate compensation, benefits, and employee records.
  • Support salary surveys, market comparisons, pay analysis, and periodic compensation reviews.
  • Prepare compensation and benefits reports and materials for review by the Compensation and Benefits Supervisor.
  • Assist with benefits enrollment, employee questions, provider coordination, and follow-up on outstanding issues.
  • Coordinate with Payroll to check employee pay and benefits data and help resolve discrepancies.
  • Support annual benefits renewals, open enrollment, and employee communications about compensation and benefits.
  • Follow company policies and procedures and support compliance with applicable Ghanaian employment and benefits requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Minimum of two years of relevant experience in compensation, benefits, payroll or related HR activities.
  • Good analytical and spreadsheet skills, with the ability to use HR, payroll, and benefits systems.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
  • Clear communication skills and sound judgment when handling confidential information.
  • Familiarity with Ghanaian employment and benefits requirements.Handle employee and compensation information with discretion.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience with high-volume payroll calculations, compensation benchmarking, benefits administration, payroll coordination, or HR reporting.
  • Experience using HRIS, payroll or benefits systems.
  • Relevant professional certification or coursework in compensation or benefits
