Kintampo Health Research Centre (KHRC) is a well-established, African-based, research centre and one of three field research centres of the Research and Development Division of the Ghana Health Service. The work of KHRC has influenced on health policy and practice throughout Ghana, Africa and the rest of the world. KHRC also offers research and training services nationally and internationally and its staffs are multidisciplinary. KHRC is located in the middle belt of Ghana.

Qualified applicants are invited to apply to work as a Pharmacist on a project at Kintampo Health Research Centre, Kintampo North Municipality, Bono-East Region.

Reporting Line: Reporting to the Director, KHRC through the Head of Clinical Trials
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Provision of pharmaceutical care to study participants within approved policies and standards.
- Ensure investigational products and medicines are received and kept at their labelled storage condition(s).
- Prepare, dispense and label appropriately investigational products and other medications according to standard operating procedure and protocols.
- Maintain investigational product records including full details of delivery to trial site(s), dispensing to participants, return and safe disposal of investigational products according to guidelines.
- Coordinate the submission of clinical trial dossiers and essential documents to ethics committees and regulatory authorities and maintain correspondence with them.
- Coordinate participant recruitment and follow up visits as well as monitor conduct of studies according to good clinical practices and other guidelines and maintain study files.
- Contribute to the writing of proposals for funding and review of proposals.
- Perform any other roles assigned by KHRC
Required Skills or Experience
Educational Qualification
- Applicants must have a Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) degree and must be in good standing with the Pharmacy Council and Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana

Experience skills and attributes
- Minimum of one year’s working experience post licensure.
- Computer skills in pharmacy data capture and processing.
- General knowledge and practical skills in dispensing.
- Be familiar with routine quality assurance procedures in pharmacy operations
- Ability to work with others.
- Ability to adapt to a changing environment.
- Demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail
- Very good verbal and written skills.
- Ability to train others on standard operational procedures.
- Competence in Microsoft Office suite.
- Demonstrate flexibility and a methodological approach to work.
- Ability for teamwork, good organization and self-motivation.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
