Full Job Description - Read Carefully
Kuapa Kooko Limited (KKL) invites applications from qualified Extension Officers for appointment. This is a full-time position dedicated to work on the Sankofa project to provide full and intensive technical support to the KKFU farmers located in remote rural locations.
KEY TASK OF THE EXTENSION OFFICER
- The Extension Officer’s tasks shall include; but not limited to the following:
- Support farmers under the EO responsibility presentation and installation of DAF plots.
- Support preparation of plots for installation (including marking and pegging of their plots) and supervise the planting of cocoa and associated crops in accordance to DAF design
- Train lead and associated second ring farmers on seed yam preparation
- Support the farmers in preparation of yam mounds and support 30 farmers to acquire and distribute planting materials of crops
- Training and capacity building activities

- Organize and contact lead and second ring farmers to ensure participation in for training activities and also provide logistical and operational support to the delivery of training sessions by project hired expects;
- Support the development and implementation of a work plan for each of the 30 farmers under tlk hw responsibility of the EO
- Support all technical consultants on the project during their field visit activities
- Monitoring of installed DAF plots installed in 30 farms under responsibility of EO and lead farmers activities
- Conduct weekly visits to monitor and report on issues and progress on all installed DAF plots regularly to assess the development of the crops, farmer commitment and market linkages according to the templates provided by project hired experts.
- Take monitoring, progress records and submit report on each plot visited accordingly prior agreed template with project hired technical experts
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Diploma or Degree in General Agriculture or relevant subjects
- At least two years field experience projects or working with farmers
- Experience working with multiple stakeholders, including private sector service providers, smallholder farmers and rural communities.
- Experience of planning and organizing events with rural communities
