Tamale Technical University came into being with the passing of the technical Universities (Amendment) Act, 2018 (Act 974) by the Parliament of Ghana and assented by the President on 24th August, 2018.
Following this, positions of Key Officers were established to manage the affairs of the University In view of the above, the Governing Council of the University wishes to invite applications from suitabty qualified Ghanaians who are goal-oriented and results-driven with good leadership qualities for appointments into the underlisted position
REGISTRAR
The Registrar is responsible to the Vice-Chancellor of the University
The successful candidate shall:
- Be the Chief Operating Officer of the University, and shall be responsible for the day today operations of the University under the Vice-Chancellor, and in accordance with the policy directives of the Council,
- Be in charge of all administrative, secretarial and human resource management functions of the University,
- Act as Secretary to the Council, Academic Board and all other Statutory Committees of the University
- Keep custody of the University Seal and to affix same to all documents of the Academic Board
- Keep custody of all legal docurnents of the University
- Provide leadership to all Directorates, Departments, Sections and Units under the Registry, &
- Perform any other functions that the Vice Chancellor and the Governing Council assign to him/her from time to time.

Terms of Appointment
- The Registrar shall hold office for an initial term of four (4) years. The appointment may be renewed for another four (4) years upon application for another term only or part thereof if that is not beyond the statutory retirement , of sixty (60)
- The terms and conditions of the appointment shall be determined by the Governing Council of the University, consistent with the Technical Universities Act, 2016 (Act 922) as amended. Statutes and Scheme of Service of S. of the Tamale Technical University
- The salary and conditions of service attached to this position are very attractive and competitive with those in comparable positions in Ghana
Academic Background, Skills and Experience in Educational Administration
Applicant to the position must
- Have served as a Deputy Registrar or comparable grade in a University or analogous institution of comparable standards for at least a period of three (3) years;
- A minimum of a Master's Degree, preferably in Administration and Management related areas, &
- Be computer literate
General Business and Personal Skills
The candidate must:
- Be of sound judgement, integrity, initiative, resourcefuness, precision and professionalism in his/her area of specialisation
- Have proven organisational and leadrship skills &
- Be of good character and demonstrate personal Integrity
