Our Client, a Public Service Institution invites applications from highly qualified and results oriented professionals for the following positions: Resource Centre Manager

Job Summary

• The role holder is responsible for dissemination of information and providing a central information and data domain that allows the institution and specified entities to access and use facilities within specified limitations.

Key Responsibilities

• Liaise with all departments/units for the creation of a platform to facilitate the access and sharing of knowledge and information across the organization
• Maintain and manage active and archived records, knowledge and resources within the institution to facilitate reference and retrieval as well as to ensure security and confidentiality of information.
• Develop good relationships with institutions and various experts such researchers and leaders in government institutions and organizations to develop an edge in information provision

• Provide information materials / information to users both on demand and in anticipation to ensure everyone is kept updated on the latest journal and book issues received, current affairs and even social events
• Maintain manuals/ digital codes and incorporate into a single database that can be accessed easily from a central point
• Communicate with other subject-related resource centres around the country and abroad for networking and interlibrary loan agreements
• Provide information for the website and coordinate with other departments/units to ensure the content of the website is updated at all times
• Serve in an advisory capacity in conjunction with the other departments and the specified entities on effective and efficient information dissemination and records keeping for reference for internal purposes and for the general public
• Perform any other duties as assigned

Qualification Required & Experience

Essential and Desirable Criteria

• A Master’s Degree in the Information Studies, Knowledge Management, Communications Studies or related field from a recognized university
• Minimum of five (5) years’ relevant experience working with records management systems, filing structures and electronic records and information management in the public sector of which at least three (3) years is in a supervisory role.
