A reputable company is seeking for a Ghanaian professional and an experience talent to occupy the position as Director within the Legal Department. 

KEY PERFORMANCE OUTPUTS

The successful applicant shall be responsible forensuring that all legal services across the Company are Lamed out effectively including preparing contracts, contracting external solicitors, liaising with regulatory agencies, preparation of regulatory reports and managing relationships with regulatory bodies for all business operations. Responsible for provision of legal advice and secretarial services to the Company on compliance with applicable rules and regulation.

The successful applicant will also be required to perform the following functions among others:

  • Oversee the formulation of legal strategies to ensure minimal interruptions to Company operations from third parties
  • Provide  legal advice on all business transactions with third parties including all legal documents and newspaper publication to avoid or minimise exposure to potential litigation

  • Liaise with Government agencies to ensure that the Company obtains relevant licenses, permits and approvals for business operations 4.0versee the preparation of legal guidelines for expansion to mitigate against possible litigation, arbitration, staff and/or community unrest and other situations capable of disrupting the Company's operations
  • Advise  management in all contractual negotiations and arrangements
  • Coordinate board reviews/evaluation
  • Provide advice to the Company's Board on best corporate governance practices that can or might be adapted
  • Oversee to ensure that all statutory records, i.e. register of shareholders/directors, information memoranda, minutes of board meetings, share ownership structure and changes in any of these, in accordance with the relevant regulations/acts
  • Monitor and advise the Board of Directors on corporate governance trends and changes in relevant legislation
  • Monitor to ensure statutory returns are made to the relevant authorities

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TECHNICAL SKILLS & COMPETENCIES REQUIRED

  • Minimum of First degree in Law
  • Master's Degree in Law with specialty in the relevant areas e.g. Corporate Law (preferred)
  • Fully qualified relevant Professional Certificate
  • Minimum of 10 years but preferably 15 years relevant experience with at least 8 years in similar/senior management role
  • Interpretation and application of relevant Laws, Rules and Regulations
