Software Engineer

Duties

  • Work on various web services & applications including front and back-end development.
  • Contribute exciting ideas and opinions in applying new and emerging technologies.
  • Work in the development and evolution of the current web-based systems
  • Identify, triage and fix bugs based on user feedback and internal testing.
  • Ensure code is valid, properly structured, meets industry standards and is compatible with browsers, devices and/or operating systems.
  • Any other task as assigned by the manager.

Must-Have

  • A degree in computer science, computer engineering or a related field.
  • Should have a minimum of two (2) years working experience in a similar role.

Senior Software Engineer

Duties

  • Interfacing with clients to understand their business, processes, goals and visions for the project.
  • Performing high quality work that surpasses the need of the client.
  • Ensure the Lead Software Engineers and Software Engineers are able to understand the business context and value of their tasks, as well as how it impacts users.

  • Analyze system specifications and create detailed software development plans and assign tasks to  Lead Software Engineers.
  • Scope development effort, and provide reliable resource and timeline estimates.
  • Prioritizing the work that the team is responsible to ensure that they are working on the highest value work meets the clients’ objectives.
  • Working with Software Engineers to decompose high-level stories into smaller, specific tasks and provide high-level design support to help them understand how to solve specific coding challenges.
  • Provide technical guidance and oversight to ensure that the work delivered is in accordance with the technical standards of the client.
  • Provide feedback to system analysts about performance considerations/usability issues concerning software specifications and implementation.
  • Mentor Software Engineers to allow for skill/knowledge development through advice, coaching, and training opportunities.
  • Determine process improvements, best practices, and develop new processes.
  • Research and recommend software tools to Software Engineers.
  • Perform performance and scalability analysis as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Must-Have

  • BSc in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related degree.
  • A Masters Degree will be an added advantage.
  • Must have a valid travelling passport.
  • Experience in managing a team of at least 5 Software Engineers.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer.
  • 4+ years of professional experience in professional web development.

MAIN DUTIES:

  • Create a strategy that draws upon the strengths of the company to generate cornpetitive advantage in existing markets and develop new revenue streams that will guarantee short and long term achievernents.
  • Liaise with the marketing team to devise new ways of making the company's products and services more attractive to government agencies.
  • Research and identify contracting opportunities for new business within the public sector.
  • Attend sales events and trade shows in order to prornote the brand and establish lasting relationships with government agencies.
  • Plan persuasive approaches and that will convince potential clients within the public sector to do business with the company.
  • Arrange meetings with prospects in order to drive product sales and knowledge.
  • Meet with potential clients and translate feedback into actionable growth strategies to expand sales and profit margin.
  • Drive and exceed sales revenue and productivity.
  • Analyse and communicate business trends as they relate to the public sector.
  • Develop and execute annual revenue plans, and provide periodic reports which will be reviewed by management.
