A reputable multinational Group of Companies based in Accra, is seeking to recruit highly motivated and results driven individuals with the requisite professional competencies and experience to fill the following roles: Network Engineer
REPORTS TO: MANAGER, IT SERVICES & INFRASTRUCTURE
JOB PURPOSE
To design and maintain IP networks that suit modern communications performance and security requirements by building network connections and configurations, as well as troubleshooting network problems.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Establish networking environment by designing system configuration, directing installation and enforcing standards.
- Define system documentation for network designs, configurations and as built to reflect actual network implementations.
- Maximize network performance by monitoring, troubleshooting network problems and outages.
- Secure network systems by defining and enforcing policies through best practices.

- Plan and schedule routine network upgrades to ensure optimum performance at all times.
- Accomplish information systems based on customer requirements and manage networking projects.
- Continuous update of job knowledge in the relevant field by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications and participating in professional organizations and certifications.
- Maintain professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate the operations of the IT Service Delivery Department.
- Stay abreast with new/emerging developments and international best practice in IT management to facilitate/enhance the operations of the company.
Required Skills or Experience
- Bachelor of Science Degree/Higher National Diploma in in Computer Science, Information Technology or its equivalent in any relevant field.
- Professional certification in Cisco CCNA/CCNP.
- Certification in Prince 2 or PMBOK.
- Five to Seven years relevant working experience in a related role.
COMPETENCIES REQUIRED
- In-depth knowledge in network security and modern threats mitigation processes.
- In-depth knowledge of designing, configuring and implementing LAN/WAN/WLAN.
- Excellent skills in designing big networks based on sub-netting, IP configuration for firewall routers and switches.
- Solid knowledge/understanding of Software Defined Networking (SDN) and Network Function Virtualization (NFV).
- Ability to establish efficient routing mechanisms for optimum performance.
- Ability to maximize network performance through best practices.
- Strong analytical skills and a logical approach to solving problems.
- Ability to work with little or no supervision.
- Innovative and able to learn quickly with a willingness to get involved in unfamiliar areas of technology.
- Team player with a flexible mindset.
- Customer centric attitude.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Supervisory and interpersonal skills in a team setting.
- Ability to maintain professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders and work effectively with all categories of employees.
- Ability to work in a fast paced and often pressured environment.
- Knowledge and proficient use of network tools.
