Logistics Manager - Medical Industry

Our client is in the medical industry and provides services to indigenous and international companies in the West African sub region . It is seeking to provide unique opportunities to logistics management professionals who are resourceful, have a very professional approach to work and have relevant experience managing the total process to join its dedicated team as Logistics Manager

The successful candidate would be responsible for:

• Developing, maintaining and standardising systems and procedures;
  
• Developing and maintaining supplier relationships;
  
• Providing commercial support and participating in tender proceedings
  
• Managing and developing the logistics team;

• Issuing reports on supply chain performance;
  
• Ensuring compliance with import and export regulations;
  
• Ensuring effective inventory control at the warehouse;
  
• Ensuring strict compliance with financial and procurement standards;
  
• Providing inputs into projects and initiatives;
  
• Participating in annual budget preparations;
  
• Participating in management meetings;
  
• Negotiating pricing and service level agreements;
  
• Providing leadership to the supply chain team.
  

The successful candidate must:

• Have 4-8 years work experience within a supply chain function, 2 years of which should be in a management or supervisory position;
  
• Have relevant supply chain and freight forwarding experience;
  
• Have at least a bachelor's degree in purchasing and supply or related field;
  
• Be computer literate and have administrative skills. A professional qualification is an added advantage;
  
• Be independent minded and have good people skills;
  
• Must be able to speak and write English and French very well.
