MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:  

  • To provide general student services advice, including local and travel information. Act as a main point of contact for any non-academic student queries.
  • Developing the student experience at entry and during the programme of study for students at London College of International Business Studies (LCIBS).
  • Communicating with appropriate and relevant colleagues within the College in order to ensure compliance with the College and UKVI rules and regulations

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:      

  • Developing the student experience at entry and during the programme of study for students at London College of International Business Studies (LCIBS).
  • To be the ‘welcoming face’ of Student Services and act as initial contact and resolve non-academic student queries.

  • To liaise with senior management, academic teams and others to take a leading role to plan, manage and organise registration and induction for new students.
  • Maintain students records. Input student details (contact details, visa and passport details, police registration) on the in-house database and ensure that this information is accurate and maintained up to date.
  • To provide general student services advice including local travel information, help with opening bank accounts, issue of confirmation letters, Student Oyster cards, etc.
  • To collate and update welcome packs for new arrivals, ensuring it contains all relevant, updated and accurate information.
  • To deal with other general office administration in an efficient and professional manner.
  • Support and train other staff colleagues in areas of Student Services work where appropriate 
  • Communicating with appropriate and relevant colleagues within the College in order to ensure compliance with the College and UKVI rules and regulations.
  •  To assist in chasing students whose passport / national ID is due to expire including exact record keeping using electronic diary methods.
  • To become familiar with the College Policies and Student Induction Compliance Guidance and Requirements 
  • Assist in covering other positions in the Student Services Department during sickness and holidays as far as possible.
  • To be proactive in the development of the role by reviewing and researching the procedures of the job on an on-going basis to improve the service to students.
  • When required, the post-holder will attend appropriate training courses.
  • To respect the confidential nature of information relating to the College and students.
  • Generate reports as requested by the Registrar
  • Any other job as deemed appropriate to the role by the Registrar.

REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB:

1.   Educated to NVQ level 3 / 4 or A level

2. Experience:

Experience of working in a busy customer focussed office environment, multi-tasking and dealing with people from a wide range of backgrounds Previous experience of working within anadministration role

2.   Experience of working in the Higher Education sector

3.   Excellent computer literacy is essential especially in MS Outlook, MS Word and MS Excel.
