--> A reputable non-bank financial institution is seeking to recruit a Risk Management Officer (RMO) to manage its financial and nonfinancial risks. In addition the RMO will have secondary responsibilities for risk reporting and quantitative analysis and will also be expected to contribute to the delivery of the new enterprise risk management framework in accordance with the Company's Strategic direction.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- To design and implement an Overall risk management process for the organisation, which includes an analysis of the impact On the company when risks occur,
- To identify, assess and evaluate potential risks that may hinder reputation, safety, Security and financial prosperity of the organisation.
- Implement processes and procedures (Health & Safety policies, Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Plans).
- Evaluate effects of proposed Risk

- Management rneasures against current processes and procedures.
- Produce risk reports and present same to Risk Management Committee for adoption.
- Promote risk culture by disseminating top risks to Heads of Departments and staff on a quarterly basis.
- Any other risk-based assessments assigned from time to time.
Competencies:
- Ability to train others.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to cope with work and time pressure.
- Ability to pay aftention to and analyse detail without getting bogged down.
- Good report writing skills.
- Must be a team player.
- Ability to organise and execute work to meet tight deadlines.
- Qualification and Experience:
- First degree in Insurance, Law, Engineering, Actuarial Science or Financial Management
- Minimum of 5 (five) years' experience in Risk Management, two (2) Of which should be In the Insurance industry.
- Must be a member of any of the following professional bodies — Institute of Risk Management (IRM), Chartered Insurance Institute (Cll), Actuarial Society
- A postgraduate degree in Risk Management will be an added advantage.
