Daystar Power Group Job Vacancy For Solar Engineer

The Solar Engineer shall be responsible for the complete life-cycle of solar power systems. Starting with developing a sales opportunity, to installation of a system and ending with operation and maintenance.

Responsibilities

Sales Engineering

1. Leads client conversations through emails, phone calls and in person meetings
2. Performs energy audits on client sites
3. Designs PV systems (on grid, off grid, hybrid).
4. Develops sales proposals to drive the sales process
5. Prepares and submits tender documents (specifications, Bill of Quantities, drawings, etc.) and designs as per requirements.
6. Drives the sales process from proposal to getting a signed contract
7. Works with legal department to draft sales contract

Project Management

1. Develops a project plan to execute a sales contract
2. Designs and plans solar power installations;
3. Leads the supply chain process to order parts internationally and locally
4. Conducts quality assurance of technical installations of both Daybreak Power’s team as well as the installations of our technical partners;
5. Directs, coordinates and supervises the installations of solar power solutions;
6. Trains client on how to operate and optimally use the system

Service

1. Actively monitors installed site performance and creates monthly report for client
2. Serves as the first line of contact for client complaints
3. Resolves site issues remotely and through site visits
4. Ensures customer satisfaction

General

1. Assists in market research and identify solar energy projects throughout Ghana
2. Develops standard operating procedures and HSE standards for solar installation work.
3. Develops and coaches technical staff to meet the objectives of Daystar Power in Ghana;
4. Introduces best-engineering practices in the company to ensure it is at the forefront of innovation and good management practices
5. Reviews technological trends in the local and global energy sector;
6. Liaises with regulatory and governmental institutions as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, preferably Electrical, Electronics or Mechanical
• Must be proud of your work, take ownership, and be passionate about quality of workmanship
• At least 2 years of engineering experience, solar experience is a plus
• Work well in a team environment & have good communication skills

Working conditions

Approximately 50% of time shall be spent in an office environment. The remaining time shall be spent in the field.
