A reputable public organization invites applications from suitably qualified Ghanaians to fill the job vacancy as IT Officer.
Position: IT Officer
Reports directly to: The Registrar
Purpose:
In collaboration with the Board Administration, ensure sustainable and efficient IT capability for tirnely provision of information to meet managerial, administrative and operational needs.
DUTIES:
- Evaluate software requirements and analyse available hardware capabilities.
- Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures for all network infrastructure and hardware.
- Install, operate, maintain and configure computer hardware operating systems and applications.
- Monitor and maintain computer systems and networks.
- Troubleshoot system and network problems,diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults.
- Test and evaluate new technology.
- Conduct electrical safety checks on computer equipment.
- Manage and set up new hardware following IT policies and procedures.
- Repairing and replacing equipment as necessary.
- Any other duty assigned by the Registrar.

QUALIFICATION
- A bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Information Technology.
- Professional qualification in IT from an accredited institution.
WORK EXPERIENCE
- Experience with Windows operating systems administration.
Other Competencies:
- Basic computer networking knowledge.
- Ability to work under pressure without supervision.
- Able to troubleshoot computer hardware problems.
- Experience with Linux and RDBMS will be a plus.
- Experience with server applications in a Microsoft networked environment.
- Knowledge of data security and disaster recovery systems and procedures.
- Knowledge of systems security protocol, policies and procedures.
- Practical experience with LAN/WAN network administration.
