A global supplier and operator of offshore floating platforms seek a Cargo Control Room Operator to work on their offshore Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel on a rotational basis in West Africa. You will operate and adjust DCS, fire and gas, ESD systems from the central control room, and optimise the process, and reduce and control plant upset. Applicants are invited a minimum of 5 years in hydrocarbon processing operations with 2 years as a CRO Technician and appropriate mix of operational and supervisory experience. Key Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

• 5 years minimum in hydrocarbon processing operations with 2 years as a CRO Technician and appropriate mix of operational and supervisory experience essential.

• Be able to understand, interpret the different control parameters on HMI console/local automation package essential

• Be able to understand the process of production (FPSO) essential

• Good level of trouble shooting and operations knowledge including interpretation of P&ID’s and C&E charts. essential

• Good in-depth knowledge of DCS and fire and gas system operations.

• Relevant hydrocarbon processing certificate.

• Test, troubleshooting and maintain pneumatic process production safety systems and control devices.

• Dismantle, reassemble, calibrate and test an instrument device in function of the process parameter.

• Skills to work with CMMS MAXIMO and MS office.

• Physical and medically aptitude to work on offshore environment

• Excellent command of the English language.

• Strong stakeholder appreciation essential. 

• Experience in providing on-the-job training or mentoring more junior peers highly desired. 

• Experience of working with Localisation programs highly desired.

• Diplomatic – able to work with various players to achieve objectives. 

• Experience of working in remote locations desired.

• Good attitude to work.

• A strong Team Player.

• Flexible/adaptive to change.

• Fluent in oral and written English

The Company has been in operation for many decades and are well established as a leading provider of floating solutions for the offshore oil and gas industry. They offer a range of vessels such as FPSO’s, FSO’S and FLNG and much more. They have an enviable reputation for EPCI (Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Installation) services as well as charter and operations projects. They operate globally and have offices in many countries. 

Responsibilities:

This role encompasses many functions including:

• The CCR operator is capable of operating and adjusting DCS, fire and gas, ESD systems from the central control room.

• Optimises the process and reduces and control plant upset

• Responds effectively to emergencies.

• Ensure that all implementations of process/software overrides are controlled and documented as per company procedures and policy guidelines.

• Ensures that personnel under your supervision are fully competent and aware of their responsibilities.

• Ensure that you are fully compliant with the operating procedure guidelines, ensuring that such guidelines do not exceed the set process parameters

• Be able to solve process problems and handle the troubleshooting situations and adjust the automated process safely to maximise production. 

This is a permanent role offering a competitive salary. In addition: 

• Offshore/Hardship allowances may be considered. 

• Transportation as necessary and required. 

• Alternatively, a transportation allowance may be provided. 

• 15 days paid leave and public holidays.

• International Medical Cover.

The Company will provide accommodations 

Foreign Service Premium may be considered.

You will be entitled to 1 trip for every 3 months service. This will include an economy flight plus 7 calendar day home leave (including weekend and public holiday but excluding travel day) to visit your home country or to travel outside of designated country. 

Once a year, someone can accompany you - economy flight paid.

A small relocation allowance may be offered. 

The Company will organise all aspects of mobilisation/ demobilisation 

The Company will organise work permits.

This is an offshore rotational position and as such:

• You will work 28 days on and 28 days off.

• You will be a permanent employee working effectively for half the year 

• You will be paid monthly and the salary will reflect the work schedule
