Key Requirements
The successful candidate will have:
• C&G/ONC/HNC or equivalent Marine or Operations background.
• STCW Certificate of Competency as a Chief Officer (Unlimited tonnage and area), or equivalent marine certification
• Preferably 5 years’ experience onboard crude oil/product carriers
• Master Mariner unlimited tonnage and area
• Understanding of vessel stability to the level of an Unlimited (Tonnage and Area) Chief Officer
• Experience and knowledge of Cargo off-take operations to DP shuttle tankers
• Experience in loading, storing and discharging of crude oil
• Experience in tank cleaning, crude oil washing and tank entry
• Relevant marine tanker background experience
• FPSO experience/Operations and Marine background
• Supervisory experience at Chief Officer Level or above in the Merchant Navy or Line supervisor of the marine team on an offshore installation
• Communication skills verbal and written
• Legislation and procedure awareness
• Good team working skills FPSO experience
• Emergency response duties/fire team trained

Job Overview: A global supplier and operator of offshore floating platforms seek a Marine Technician to work in their onshore CCR in their facility in West Africa. Applicants are invited with good operations experience working in a Cargo Control Room combined with the relevant certifications as listed under requirements. The Company has been in operation for many decades and are well established as a leading provider of floating solutions for the offshore oil and gas industry. They offer a range of vessels such as FPSO’s, FSO’S and FLNG and much more. They have an enviable reputation for EPCI (Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Installation) services as well as charter and operations projects. They operate globally and have offices in many countries.
Responsibilities:
This role encompasses many functions including:
• Assist with all the Cargo control room and activities related for vessel cargo and offtake operations and complete all these work activities in accordance with the Facility standards, Facility Management procedures and specifications.
• Assist with Marine Control Room watch keeping duties, monitoring cargo, ballast, mooring and communication systems and environmental conditions. Ensure all appropriate navigational warnings are displayed
• Monitor, control and operate the marine and cargo operations efficiently, ensuring all procedures are adhered to and all defects are reported to the offshore technical lead. To ensure a pro-active and continuous approach to safety.
• Manage and monitor FPSO stability with reference to stability, trim, stress and bending moments when on shift. Implement the cargo and ballast plan when on shift.
• Monitor all vessels in the vicinity by maintaining an efficient Radar/AIS and VHF watch.
• Provide helicopter pilot information required for landing and take-off activities including weather updates, close liaison with HLO during helicopter operations. Act as a flight keeper for helicopter operations until handover to shore base Ops.
• Communicate with the shore base helicopter information including passenger names weights, freight, weather and timings.
• Assist with operations services group with tank washing and gas freeing operations.
• Ensure that the offtake equipment and machineries, such as the IGS system, offtake meter and prover, cargo pumps, are functioning correctly.
• Ensure the tests on GMDSS equipment are carried out in accordance with SOLAS.
• Ensure that all Marine related communications equipment is functioning properly.
• Assist with Maintenance activities like Periodic inspections.
This is a permanent role offering a competitive salary.
In addition:
• Offshore / Hardship allowances may be considered.
• Transportation as necessary and required.
• Alternatively, a transportation allowance may be provided.
• 15 days paid leave and public holidays.
• International Medical Cover.
• For ex-pats:
The Company will provide accommodations
Foreign Service Premium may be considered.
You will be entitled to 1 trip for every 3 months service. This will include an economy flight plus 7 calendar day home leave (including weekend and public holiday but excluding travel day) to visit your home country or to travel outside of designated country.
Once a year, someone can accompany you - economy flight paid.
A small relocation allowance may be offered.
The Company will organise all aspects of mobilisation/ demobilisation
The Company will organise work permits.
This is an offshore rotational position and as such:
• You will work 28 days on and 28 days off.
• You will be a permanent employee working effectively for half the year
• You will be paid monthly and the salary will reflect the work schedule
