interrelated development challenges. FHI360 serves more than 70 countries and all U S states and territories. we are currently seeking qualified candidates for the following positions on a USAID-funded Ghana Partnership for Education: Learning project in Ghana.
Finance Officer - Accra
Position Summary
Provide accounting and financial support for USAID/partnership for Education: Learning project in Learning office and perform diversified accounts payable functions in accordance with FHI 360 policy, USAID and other donor rules and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and maintain accurate payment procedures whiles determining propriety and accuracy of all expenditures
- Coordinate issuing of travel advance and travel expenses
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure timely payments
- Review and analyze pending expenditures for appropriate action
- Manage petty cash system
- Prepare bank reconciliation
- Pay training participants using mobile money systems
- Sometimes perform finance site visits of local partners
- Ensure smooth and timely flow of all expenditures related to reports and audit documentations

Minimum Requirement
- A degree in Accounting or Finance or a part professional qualification (ACCA/ICA/CIMA/CPA) or related field
- Relevant work experience in accounting and finance preferably in the development sector
- Experience in a Non-governmental Organization (NGO) — local or International may be an advantage.
- Knowledge of basic accounting including General Ledger and office procedures
- Familiarity with bulk payments using mobile money systems will be an advantage
- Ability to Prepare & Interpret financial information and reports
