BlueCrest College Ghana is inviting applications for the positions of Dean for the School of Technology and School of Business at its Accra campus. The primary responsibility of the Dean will be to provide leadership to the respective school. 

Openings - 2

Education & Experience Requirements:

  1. Ph.D./DPhil degree 
  2.  least 10 (ten) years’ teaching & administrative experience at a degree awarding University or Higher educational institution
  3.  At least 5 (five) years’ work experience after completion of Ph.D./DPhil
  4. At least 5 (five) research publications in leading academic journals in the last 3(three) calendar years
  5. At least 3 (three) years’ administrative experience as the leader for school or department (as Dean or Head of Department) and managing teaching staff, research, academic delivery, registry related activities
  6. International experience: Work experience in a University in a foreign country for at least 2 (two) years’. Teaching/academic experience in sub-Saharan African countries will be preferred, however, is not a pre-requisite
  7. Past experience of having worked as Dean or Head of the Department (HOD) will be greatly appreciated and preferred

 

The Dean(s) will report to the Rector, BlueCrest College Ghana

The Dean (for either of the schools) will be responsible

  1. To set goals and targets for the respective school, including but not limited to business, academic quality, student satisfaction, staff talent development, and the school’s reputation
  2. To lead the institutions’ academic delivery by providing leadership and mentoring to the Heads of Departments under the School 
  3. To identify new academic and non-academic partnerships, and lead existing ones to achieve institutional goals and School-specific goals
  4. To enhance and promote research at the school and ensure that the institution’s standing as a research institution
  5. To introduce innovative teaching-learning methodologies at the school by working closely with the academic leadership at the institution. To share learning with other schools at the College
  6. To be a part of cross-functional committees and senior leadership teams for college-wide activities and initiatives, including but not limited to, academic reform, teaching quality audits, student satisfaction evaluation, campus expansion planning, institutional development, financial planning, project planning, accreditation and affiliation related work and partnerships
  7. To review the planning & execution of the Marketing plan related to the school’s programmes and ensure business goals and targets are met with
  8. To lead the affiliation and accreditation committees and panels for the school and the wider college as mandated by the Rector, and ensure compliance with guidelines prescribed by the Accreditation body & affiliating Universities
  9. To ensure student satisfaction at the School with respect to academic delivery, student support services, extra-academic activities, and initiatives is high 
  10. To lead recruitment at the school for academic and non-academic roles, and ensure that best talent is recruited
  11. To engage with the Accrediting bodies and affiliating university teams, and ensure adherence to all norms and requirements at the school and the wider college community
