The Route Market Manager is responsible for assisting the Strategic Development Director supporting the team to execute the route to market ambition for WAC, achieving the plan, increasing market share in order to beat the competition, capture/measure the identified route to market opportunities in delivering excellent business performance in terms of net sales value, trading profit, cash flow, distribution, visibility & share in the market.

Accountable for great relationships with the commercial teams, key customers and the distributors’ staff. Great relationships with finance & marketing teams and acting as an outstanding ambassador for ECCBC.

 

Your main responsibilities will be:

•Supports the execution of the WAC route to market strategy.

•Supports the execution of distributor assessments against RTM standards.

•Helps in distributor screening & recruitment Helps in distributor screening & recruitment.

•Oversees distributor capability development & monitors execution.

•Participates in the recruitment & development of third party sales force – making sure the team is equipped with the right tools & capability to deliver up to set standards.

•Oversee commercial execution agenda, making sure the sales team is consistently meeting the set execution standards: Coverage / Strike Rate / Distribution / Visibility etc.

•Own the commercial dashboards, analyzes & maintains on a frequent basis the company’s commercial metrics to ensure all opportunities and risks are visible to senior stakeholders.

•Monitor the brilliant execution of the route to market guidelines & the set performance criteria.

•Reports against outlet standards & sales force effectiveness metrics.

•Maximize universe coverage by owning routing re-engineering, optimizing working hours & frequencies of visit.

•Participate in periodical capability assessments to capture capability gaps against standard.

•Participate in the recruitment & development of third party sales force – making sure the team is equipped with the right tools & capability to deliver up to set standards.

•Support the commercial team in fulfilling their capability development plans. Helps execute the yearly training calendar.

•Support management by providing advice, counsel, and decisions; analyzing information and applications.

•Comply with WAC region legal requirements by anticipating legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.

•Identify the potential risks that could have an impact on the area and mitigate them.

 

The Successful Applicant should have:

•5+ years experience in Sales, Trade marketing, or Operations, preferable in consumer goods sector.

•Experience in business development, impulse sales in multiple markets, such as developed and emerging.

•Experience in African markets appreciated as well as experience in distribution.

•Bachelor or Master Degree in Marketing, Business, Logistics or any other business related field..

•Post graduation desirable or a deep knowledge of sales, distribution and logistics.

•English is required, French is a plus.
