Main Duties or Responsibilities
The successful applicant shall report to superior officer in the Legislative Drafting Unit of the Office of Legislative Drafting and legal Services and shall, among others, assist in:
• The provision of legislative drafting services to the house and parliamentary committees in a professional and non-partisan manner
• The preparation of written comments and analysis on Bills and legislative proposals, stating legal opinions where necessary
• Legal research on appropriate authorities for writing opinions and rulings
• Any other duties assigned by superior officers
Qualification Required & Experience
• Bachelor of Laws Degree from a recognized university plus a Barrister at Law (BL) qualification with at least 3 years of post qualification experience
Other Requirements
• Experience in legislative drafting
• Experience in parliamentary practice and procedure
• Ability to work under pressure and with minimum supervision
