Job Summary

To teach Information and Communication Technology to Junior High School students and equip them with practical digital literacy, problem-solving, and computing skills in line with the new GES/Curriculum for Basic Schools. The teacher will also support the school in maintaining ICT resources and promoting the use of technology for teaching and learning.

Key Responsibilities

A. Teaching & Learning Plan and deliver engaging ICT lessons for the learners according to the GES curriculum.

  • Teach core areas: Computer fundamentals, Word Processing, Spreadsheets, Presentation, Internet use, Coding/Scratch, Robotics basics, Digital citizenship, and Cyber safety.

  • Prepare schemes of work, lesson notes, and teaching learning materials.

  • Conduct practical sessions in the computer lab and ensure all students get hands-on experience.

  • Set, mark, and record assignments, quizzes, and exams.

  • Prepare students for BECE.

B. Student Development & Assessment

  • Assess and monitor students' progress and provide feedback.

  • Identify students with special talents in ICT and nurture them for competitions like National Science & Math Quiz, Coding competitions.

  • Instill discipline, creativity, and responsible use of technology in students.

C. Resource & Lab Management

  • Maintain and manage the ICT lab, computers, projectors, and other ICT equipment.

  • Ensure proper use, security, and basic maintenance of ICT facilities.

  • Keep an inventory of ICT tools and report faults to management.

D. School Support

  • Support other teachers to integrate ICT into their subjects.

  • Train students and staff on basic digital skills where needed.

  • Participate in school programs, PTA meetings, and extracurricular activities.

  • Serve as an ICT coordinator for the school.

Assessment & Feedback

  • Design quizzes, assignments, and exams to evaluate progress

  • Track student performance and adjust teaching methods as needed

Classroom Management

  • Create an engaging, respectful and quiet classroom environment

  • Maintain discipline and encourage participation

  • Use tech, multimedia, and real-world materials to make lessons practical

Requirements

  • Education: Diploma in Education with ICT option OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science / Information Technology / Education with ICT.

  • Experience: 1-3 years teaching experience preferred, but entry-level roles exist

  • Tech Skills: Proficient in MS Office, Internet, Scratch, Basic Coding, and troubleshooting.

  • Tools: Familiarity with Google Classroom, Zoom, MS Office, or other edtech

  • Proximity: Kpone, Ashiaman, Tema, Community 25, Dawhenya and Prampram

  • Passion for teaching and mentoring young learners.

  • Self-motivated, innovative, and tech-savvy.

  • High level of integrity and professionalism.

  • Team player with good interpersonal skills

Salary Range: Negotiable
