Role Summary
The Assistant Daycare Caregiver is a full-time, on-site role based in Accra. This role supports lead teachers and caregivers in supervising children, engaging them in age-appropriate learning and play activities, and ensuring their safety and well-being throughout the day. Daily tasks include helping with feeding, diapering and toileting routines, maintaining clean and organized classroom spaces, and preparing materials for lessons and games.

The Assistant Daycare Caregiver communicates regularly with colleagues, follows established childcare policies and routines, and contributes to a warm, inclusive environment that respects each child’s individual needs. The role may also involve assisting with drop-off and pick-up, observing children’s behavior, and sharing relevant updates with the teaching team.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to provide attentive, compassionate care to infants and young children, including support with feeding, hygiene, and comfort.
- Skills in engaging children through play, storytelling, basic early learning activities, and positive behavior guidance.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working collaboratively with colleagues and interacting respectfully with families.
- Reliability, patience, and the ability to remain calm and organized in a busy childcare environment.
- Basic knowledge of child development principles or early childhood education; formal training or coursework is an advantage.
- Experience in a daycare, preschool, or similar childcare setting is preferred but not required.
- Ability to follow health, safety, and cleanliness guidelines, including lifting and assisting young children as needed.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent; additional certificates in childcare or first aid/CPR are a plus.
