About the role

We are delighted to announce that we are looking for a Specialist – Import / Export (Africa North) to join our Supply Chain team.

As a Future Shaper, you will play a key role in ensuring customs compliance, trade governance, and operational excellence across our Africa North region. Reporting to the Manager – Supply Chain, this position is based in the Orica Accra Office, Ghana and supports operations across the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Ghana, Mauritania, Ivory Coast, and Senegal.

In this role, you will provide customs compliance oversight and assurance for all import and export activities within the region. You will lead post-clearance reviews, support audit readiness, manage customs broker performance, and ensure compliance with import and export permit requirements. Working closely with internal stakeholders, customs authorities, and regulatory agencies, you will help strengthen customs controls, reduce regulatory risk, and drive continuous improvement across our international trade operations.

Your expertise will be instrumental in maintaining compliant, efficient, and future-focused supply chain processes, while enabling the safe and seamless movement of goods across multiple jurisdictions. Experience working in a multinational environment and knowledge of customs regulations across Africa will be highly valued. Fluency in English is essential, and French language skills would be a distinct advantage given the regional scope of the role.

What you will be doing

• Lead customs compliance monitoring, assurance, and audit readiness across all import and export activities in the Africa North region.
• Conduct post-clearance and pre-clearance reviews to ensure customs declaration accuracy, compliance, and documentation integrity.
• Manage customs broker performance, identify compliance gaps, and drive corrective and preventative actions.
• Develop and maintain customs compliance reporting, dashboards, and management insights to support decision-making.
• Partner with internal stakeholders, customs authorities, and regulatory bodies to ensure effective trade governance and permit compliance.

What you will bring

• A relevant degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, International Trade, Commerce, Law, Finance, or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience in customs compliance, international trade, import/export operations, or managing customs brokers and third-party service providers.
• Proven experience conducting customs audits, post-clearance reviews, and compliance assessments.
• Strong knowledge of customs valuation, tariff classification, origin requirements, customs documentation, and permit management.
• Excellent analytical, governance, audit, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across multiple functions.
