Job summary

The ESG Impact Reporting Manager is responsible for implementing MTN Ghana’s Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategy via performance metrics and impact reporting. The role ensures alignment with global ESG frameworks and regulatory standards while supporting transparency, evaluations, mechanisms aligned to sustainable business practices. This role works cross-functionally with internal departments and external stakeholders to measure sustainability impact, manage ESG data, and produce high-quality sustainability and impact reports.

Key Tasks

  • Support the implementation of MTN’s ESG Impact Analysis and Reporting strategy.
  • Understand and analyze the positive and negative impacts of MTN’s activities on various stakeholders, including employees, customers, communities and the environment.
  • Collect and analyze data on ESG indicators, such as carbon emissions, supply chain labor practices, board diversity, and community engagement, provide real-time insights.
  • Maintain, update, and manage high-quality data across the parameters for ongoing analysis and regulatory audits.
  • Ensure that the Impact of MTN Ghana’s ESG initiatives are accurately calculated across the company’s operations, products and services.
  • Uphold integrity while reporting and mitigate Greenwashing risks.
  • Create visibility of the ESG Impact analysis within the business and drive impact maximization.
  • Develop reporting system on Sustainability programs to Board and Management, MTN Group, and relevant stakeholders.
  • Develop reporting and dashboards on programs for Portfolio Managers to enhance sustainability
  • Deliver inputs into MTN’s suite of ESG reports and publications in alignment with MTN Group requirements.
  • Deliver inputs into MTN’s ESG performance across various indexes through gap assessments, intervention development and continuous performance tracking.
  • Monitor the ESG performance indicators and assurance process working with relevant functions within the business.
  • Ensure ESG Index linked to short-term and long-term incentives are tracked.
  • Respond to ESG queries from Group and any local stakeholders in-line with the MTN’s Sustainability strategy.
  • Manage ESG knowledge and data management processes, systems, and database of MTN Ghana in alignment with Group requirements.
  • Implement ESG training programmes for management, staff, and suppliers to entrench ESG into the culture of the business.
  • Assist with stakeholder engagement with various teams to align strategic reporting efforts with disclosure priorities, goal setting, and programmatic development.

Qualification Required & Experience

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Computer Science or a business-related field of study
  • Google Analytics and SQL certification a plus
  • Experienced user of Excel, PowerBi and Access

Experience:

  • 5 years minimum experience in data analytics and reporting of which 3 years must have been in Sustainability & Social Impact reporting in a supervisory role.

Professional/Technical competencies:

  • ESG Impact and Reporting
  • Research Impact and Insights
  • Data mining and analytics
  • Strong knowledge of all main analytics tools and techniques
  • Business Performance Management
  • Planning and Budgeting
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Knowledge and ability to analyse KPIs and provide detailed reports
  • Project management reporting principles

Skills/ Physical Competencies:

  • Self-starter and ability to keep up in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines
  • Naturally curious and have a passion to ideate and advance innovation of digital products
  • Must be detail-oriented and have good organization skills
  • Maturity, professionalism, and good conflict management
  • Very good at presenting advanced insights in a simple language for senior leaders
