Company Overview
Our client, FirstKlass Shipping Specialist, is an international door-to-door shipping and logistics company headquartered in the United Kingdom with growing operations in Ghana. The company specialises in efficient cargo handling, international shipping coordination, and reliable delivery services between the UK and Ghana.
To strengthen our Ghana operations, we are seeking a highly disciplined and experienced General Manager to lead our Accra headquarters and supervise our Kumasi branch.

Position Summary
The General Manager will be responsible for the strategic leadership, operational efficiency, and overall performance of the Ghana offices. The successful candidate will ensure strong supervision of staff, operational compliance, and customer satisfaction while aligning local operations with company standards set by the UK headquarters.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership and management of the Accra and Kumasi offices.
- Supervise and coordinate daily operations including cargo handling, logistics coordination, and customer service.
- Lead, motivate, and discipline staff to ensure high productivity and professional conduct.
- Manage a predominantly male workforce and maintain strong workplace discipline and accountability.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, operational procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor shipments, delivery schedules, and operational performance metrics.
- Prepare operational reports for submission to the UK headquarters.
- Manage client relationships and resolve operational issues promptly.
- Oversee staff scheduling, performance management, and training.
- Ensure security and proper handling of cargo and documentation.
Required Skills or Experience
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Management, HR or a related field (Master’s degree is an advantage).
- Professional certification in either HR or Finance is a must
- Minimum of 7–10 years of management experience, preferably in logistics, shipping, transportation, or operations management.
- Demonstrated ability to manage large teams and enforce discipline in a demanding operational environment.
- Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to supervise multiple offices and coordinate field operations.
- Excellent communication and reporting skills.
- Strong organisational and administrative capabilities.
