Job Description
- Department: Fleet Operations / Auto Business Division
- Reports To: Chief Driver / Fleet Operations Manager
Position Summary
Drivers are responsible for safely operating company vehicles to transport personnel, goods, and materials. This role requires excellent driving skills, knowledge of traffic regulations, commitment to safety, and professional conduct while representing Bricks & Mint Limited on the road.

Key Responsibilities
Driving and Transportation
- Safely operate assigned company vehicles
- Transport employees, clients, and visitors as assigned
- Deliver goods, materials, and equipment to designated locations
- Follow assigned routes and schedules
- Plan routes to ensure timely arrivals
- Adapt to traffic conditions and road closures
Vehicle Care and Maintenance
- Conduct daily pre-trip vehicle inspections
- Check oil, water, tire pressure, and fluid levels
- Keep vehicle clean and well-maintained (interior and exterior)
- Report vehicle defects and maintenance needs immediately
- Monitor warning lights and gauges during operation
- Ensure vehicle is properly secured when parked
Safety and Compliance
- Obey all traffic laws and road safety regulations
- Maintain valid driver's license and required certifications
- Use seat belts and ensure passengers buckle up
- Avoid mobile phone use while driving
- Report accidents and incidents immediately
- Participate in safety training and briefings
Documentation
- Maintain accurate logbook with trips, mileage, and fuel
- Complete daily trip sheets and vehicle checklists
- Submit expense reports for fuel and tolls
- Keep vehicle registration and insurance documents current
- Report delays or issues to supervisor promptly
Customer Service
- Provide courteous and professional service to passengers
- Assist with loading and unloading of goods/materials
- Maintain professional appearance and conduct
- Represent company positively to clients and public
- Handle complaints professionally
Other Duties
- Run errands and perform deliveries as assigned
- Assist with vehicle inspections and minor maintenance
- Cover for other drivers when needed
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Required Skills or Experience
Qualifications
License and Legal Requirements
- Valid Ghana Driver's License (Class C or D, depending on vehicle type)
- Clean driving record (no major violations in past 2 years)
- Minimum age: 23 years
Experience
- Minimum 3 years professional driving experience
- Experience driving in Accra and Greater Accra Region
- Knowledge of major roads and routes in Ghana
- Experience with different vehicle types (light commercial, vans, trucks) preferred
Skills and Competencies
- Excellent driving skills in various road and weather conditions
- Good knowledge of traffic laws and regulations
- Strong safety consciousness and defensive driving
- Good communication skills
- Reliability and punctuality
- Professional appearance and conduct
- Ability to follow instructions
- Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge
- Problem-solving abilities
- Customer service orientation
- Physical fitness and stamina
- Literacy (ability to complete trip logs and documents)
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit for extended periods
- Good vision (corrected or uncorrected)
- Physical ability to load and unload materials
- Ability to work flexible hours
- Willingness to work weekends and overtime when required
Working Conditions
- Regular exposure to traffic and road conditions
- May be required to drive in various weather conditions
- Extended periods of driving
- Occasional overtime and weekend work
