ActionAid Ghana (AAG) is a non-governmental organization registered in Ghana as a National NGO and working in the country since 1990. AAG is a member of ActionAid International Federation as the first Southern Affiliate programme. dedicated to social justice, poverty reduction, and human rights. AAG’s strategic interventions focus on gender equality, youth empowerment, climate resilience, and addressing inequalities in marginalized communities.
With this approach, AAG works with the active agency of people living in poverty and their communities, social movements, and people’s organizations to protect and promote their rights; build their resilience to poverty and climate change; and ensure the redistribution of resources and power. AAG presence is in 11 out of Ghana’s 16 administrative regions. These are: Upper East, Upper West, Northern, Savannah, Northeast, Brong Ahafo, Bono East, Ahafo, Volta, Oti, and Greater Accra Regions.
Job Description
ActionAid Ghana (AAG), an Affiliate of ActionAid International is looking to employ an experienced and self- motivated individual to fill the following position: Programme Officer
- Salary: This role is on SM2 of ActionAid Ghana’s Salary Structure.

Role Overview
As a Programme Officer, you will be responsible for deepening partners and communities understanding and appreciation of the operationalization of Country Strategy Paper (CSP), building and sustaining partnership and networking relationships with key stakeholders to influence policies and practices as well as strengthening the capacity of rights holder organisations to engage government and local authorities on the mission objectives of the Region.
Additionally, you will monitor partners’ programmes and relationships to ensure they are compliant with ActionAid quality programming mix and financial management procedures, conduct regular visits to rights holders and their communities and document the changes identified and submit reports on activities undertaken to meet CSP objectives.
Job Circumstances: This is a two (2) year renewable employment contract on national terms and conditions.
Required Skills or Experience
- First degree in Social Sciences or relevant field
- Three (3) years’ working experience.
