Role Purpose
The Accountant will provide accurate, timely, and compliant financial management for Truecoco Ghana Ltd’s agroprocessing operations in Tema. The role ensures robust financial controls, supports management decision-making, and maintains full transparency across production, procurement, farmer payments, export operations, and statutory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
A. Financial Accounting & Reporting
- Maintain accurate daily accounting records in accordance with IFRS and Ghanaian accounting standards.
- Prepare monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, variance analysis, and commentary.
- Reconcile all bank accounts, mobile money accounts, and petty cash.
- Manage accruals, prepayments, depreciation schedules, and stock valuation.
- Ensure timely posting and reconciliation of all production-related financial entries.

B. Payables, Receivables & Treasury
- Manage accounts payable, including supplier invoice verification, GRNs, PO matching, and payment scheduling.
- Issue customer invoices, track receivables, and follow up on overdue accounts.
- Prepare weekly cash flow forecasts and monitor company liquidity.
- Maintain strict control over all payment processes, ensuring authorisations follow company policy.
C. Inventory, Production & Cost Control
- Work with Production and Stores to ensure accurate stock records for raw materials and finished goods.
- Conduct weekly and monthly stocktakes and reconcile variances.
- Implement cost control systems to track input-output ratios and factory OPEX.
- Support quality, ICS, and traceability systems with aligned financial data.
D. Compliance & Regulatory Reporting
- Prepare and file VAT, PAYE, SSNIT, and Withholding Tax returns.
- Prepare corporate tax estimates and support annual audits.
- Ensure compliance with GRA, Registrar of Companies, EPA, and other regulatory bodies.
E. Internal Controls & Procedures
- Strengthen financial controls across procurement, production, warehousing, and export operations.
- Maintain clean accounting systems with full document traceability.
- Identify gaps and propose improvements in financial and operational processes.
F. Management Support
- Provide financial insights for strategic decision-making.
- Prepare board-level financial reports.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and project financial evaluations.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Essential
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a similar accounting role.
- Strong knowledge of Ghanaian tax laws and statutory filings.
- Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Tally, etc.).
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Preferred
- Experience in manufacturing or agroprocessing environments.
- Experience with cost accounting.
- Knowledge of ICS, traceability, or organic certification.
- Strong written communication for reporting.
