Role Summary
The Solar Technician will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of solar PV systems, including rooftop and ground-mounted setups, off-grid and grid-connected systems. You will work on-site with engineering and operations teams to ensure safe and high-quality installations.
Key Responsibilities
- Install solar panels, inverters, batteries, charge controllers, and other system components.
- Wire and connect system components according to design specifications and safety standards.
- Perform site assessments and assist with system layout planning.
- Conduct routine maintenance and system health checks.
- Identify and repair faults in solar energy systems.
- Provide basic user training to clients on system use and safety.
- Complete installation reports and documentation accurately.

Required Skills or Experience
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or technical certificate in Electrical Installation, Renewable Energy, or related field.
- 1–3 years of experience working with solar PV systems (installation, maintenance, repair).
- Familiarity with tools such as multimeters, drills, crimpers, and safety harnesses.
- Understanding of DC and AC power, electrical wiring, and load management.
- Basic knowledge of health and safety standards related to electrical and rooftop work.
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and installation manuals.
Preferred Skills
- Certification in solar PV installation
- Experience working on solar water pumping, hybrid systems, or battery storage.
- Fluency in local language(s) and ability to communicate with clients and local teams.
- Ability to work at heights and in remote locations with minimal supervision.
