GIU International Christian Academy (GICA) is a Christ-centered international school in Tema (Golf-City area), Ghana. We are committed to academic excellence and spiritual formation, equipping students to lead and serve with integrity. We utilize the Cambridge International Education curriculum from primary through A-Levels, blending rigorous academics with Biblical values.

Position Overview

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Primary School Teacher specializing in Global Perspectives and World History. The successful candidate will inspire curiosity about the world, develop students’ critical thinking skills, and encourage them to engage with global issues through the lens of a Christian worldview.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and practical lessons in Global Perspectives and World History aligned with the Cambridge International curriculum.
  • Integrate biblical principles into teaching to foster both academic and spiritual growth.
  • Develop lesson plans, assessments, and instructional materials that promote inquiry-based and experiential learning.
  • Encourage students to think critically about global issues, cultures, and historical contexts.
  • Create a supportive, inclusive, and safe classroom environment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to plan cross-curricular projects and contribute to the broader school community.
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about student progress and development.
  • Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and school events.

Required Skills or Experience

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in History, Social Studies, Education, specializing in History or Social Studies, or related field (Bachelor’s required).
  • Teaching certification or qualification recognized internationally.
  • Experience teaching at the primary level, ideally within the Cambridge International curriculum.
  • Strong knowledge of Global Perspectives and World History content.
  • Committed Christian with a passion for integrating faith and learning.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
  • Ability to inspire students to explore and appreciate diverse cultures and perspectives.
