We are looking for an enthusiastic and resourceful School Librarian to manage our library as a vibrant learning hub that supports the Cambridge curriculum. The successful candidate will foster a love for reading, teach research and information skills, and ensure access to diverse print and digital resources for students and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Organise and manage the school library as an engaging Learning Resource Centre.
- Develop and maintain a rich collection of books, e-resources, and periodicals.
- Promote reading, research, and independent learning across all age groups.
- Support teachers with resources and integrate information skills into classroom teaching.
- Train and supervise Pupil Library Assistants.
- Organise library events, displays, and activities to encourage a reading culture.
- Manage cataloguing, stock checks, and circulation of library materials.
- Ensure safeguarding standards and act as a key support for student well-being.
- Collaborate with staff, parents, and external partners to strengthen library services.

Required Skills or Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Library/Information Studies, Education, or related field.
- Certification in school library management or media services is an advantage.
- Experience with library systems, digital resources, and educational settings.
- Familiarity with the Cambridge curriculum preferred.
- Strong ICT skills, including library software, eBooks, and digital learning tools.
- Passion for promoting literacy and independent learning.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Approachable, patient, and supportive with students and staff.
- Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
