Role:

Reporting to the Product Development Manager

The Product Developer will be responsible for co-ordinating all Pilot Plant Product Development activities including line trials & reporting. This role involves innovation, ingredient sourcing, formulation, sensory testing, and ensuring product quality to meet consumer preferences and market trends.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and improve formulations for cooking-bases products.
  • Identify and apply new ingredients, processing methods, and preservation techniques to enhance product quality, shelf life, and taste.
  • Conduct sensory evaluations and reformulate products based on consumer feedback and market insights.
  • Conduct lab-scale and pilot plant trials to test formulations and production feasibility.
  • Work with quality assurance teams to ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards.
  • Evaluate texture, viscosity, flavor stability, and packaging compatibility.
  • Collaborate with production teams to optimize manufacturing processes and improve efficiency.
  • Partner with procurement to source high-quality raw materials and optimize ingredient costs.
  • Ensure all products meet food industry regulations, labeling requirements, and safety standards.

Requirements:

Technical & Behavioural Competencies

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Food science and technology or any science based related field.
  • At least two (2) years R&D experience with a proven track record of delivery.
  • Experience of generating technical documentation and reporting.
  • Good formulation knowledge and understanding of chemical interactions.
  • Excellent management of laboratory equipment, accessories, and resources.
  • Possess excellent technical problem-solving and time management skills.
  • Should have strong analytical thinking skills.
  • Strong team playing and collaboration skills.
