Job Description

  • REPORT TO: Assistant General Manager-Administration

Job Purpose

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Sales & Events Manager to join our team at Rock City Hotel. The Sales & Events Manager will be responsible for driving revenue growth through effective sales strategies and managing all aspects of event planning and execution. This role requires a combination of sales expertise, organizational skills, and creativity to ensure the success of both corporate and social events hosted at our hotel.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Strategy Development:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and increase market share.
  • Identify new business opportunities and cultivate relationships with corporate clients, event planners, and industry partners.
  • Conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends and competitor activities.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients while actively seeking opportunities to expand the client base.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries, providing information, and ensuring exceptional service throughout the sales process.

Event Planning and Execution:

  • Oversee all aspects of event planning and execution, including coordinating with clients, vendors, and internal departments to ensure seamless operations.
  • Customize event packages based on client preferences and budget requirements, providing creative solutions to meet their needs.
  • Supervise onsite event staff to ensure events are executed according to specifications and standards.

Marketing and Promotion:

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop promotional materials and campaigns to drive event bookings and increase hotel visibility.
  • Represent Rock City Hotel at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to promote our event services and expand our network.

Budget Management:

  • Prepare and manage budgets for sales and events activities, monitoring expenses and ensuring profitability.
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements with clients and vendors to maximize revenue and minimize costs.

Reporting and Analysis:

  • Generate regular reports on sales performance, event bookings, and revenue forecasts, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
  • Analyze data and metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of sales and marketing initiatives and make data-driven decisions.

Required Skills or Experience

Qualification/Skills

  • A Masters/Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Marketing, or related field.
  • Proven experience in sales, event planning, or hospitality management, preferably in a hotel or resort environment.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence decision-makers.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Creative thinker with the ability to develop innovative sales strategies and event concepts.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Customer Relations Management (CRM software).
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed to accommodate events and client meetings.
