The Governing Council of Garden City University College (GCUC), Kenyase-Kumasi, announces that the position of PRESIDENT of the University College has become vacant, and invites applications from qualified and enterprising candidates to fill in the position.
The University College
The Garden City University College is a private university located at Kenyase-Kumasi in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. The University College is affiliated with the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and accredited by the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC). GCUC has three (3) Schools and six (6) Departments which run more than fifteen (15) graduate, degree and diploma programmes.
The Position
- The President is the Executive Head of the University College and is responsible to the Governing Council, for both the academic and administrative functions of the University College.
- He/She is charged with the promotion of quality higher education and the provision of academic and administrative leadership.
- The President is also responsible for initiating new directions in the academic development of the University College and for implementing the University College’s Strategic Plan.
- He/She is the Chief Disciplinary Officer of the University College and exercises general disciplinary functions over both members of staff and students, subject to the Statutes and Regulations of the University College.

The Person
- Must be of professorial rank or equivalent;
- Must be an internationally acclaimed and/or distinguished Scholar with the capacity to motivate and direct staff;
- Must exhibit leadership qualities and organizational skills;
- Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills; and,
- Must have the capacity to raise funds and resources for research and other development activities.
- Must be able to serve a full FOUR-YEAR Term of Office before attaining the age of SIXTY-FIVE (65).
Terms Of Appointment
- The full-time appointment shall be for FOUR (4) YEARS in the first instance, and may be subject to renewal for two (2) years after evaluation of performance.
