Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Business Development Officer located in Klagon, Tema at the warehouse office reporting to the General Manager - Commercial. As a Business Development Officer, you will be responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, developing and maintaining relationships with clients, and working closely with the General Manager – Commercial to drive revenue growth. The successful candidate will have a strategic mindset, excellent communication and negotiation skills, and a strong ability to build and maintain clients.
Detailed Job Description
- Business Development Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive business development strategy to identify and capture new project opportunities in the agriculture and logistics space.
- Market Research and Analysis: Conduct market research to identify trends, competitors, and potential clients in the agriculture and logistics space, leveraging insights to position the company’s offerings effectively. This should lead to generations of statistics related to quality improvements and customer satisfaction.

- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including Ghana Export Promotion Authority, Exporter Associations and Farmer Based Organisations.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Resolves customer complaints regarding services, in coordination with relevant teams.
- Transparency and Visibility: Creates visibility around actions related to all activities related to this account and regular reporting of the same.
- Effective Coordination: Coordinates among various stakeholders within the organization in order to ensure client deliverables.
- Client coordination: Works with the client on generating ideas and digital initiatives that capitalize on existing and prospective partner strengths to drive additional benefit to the business portfolio.
- Current Knowledge: Stays current and knowledgeable on all products, service offerings and trends within the industry.
- Works closely and coordinates effectively with solutions and services departments of Company to ensure smooth and quality delivery of products and services on time.
- Effectively interacts with other departments including the account management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related areas
- Professional qualification in marketing will be an advantage
- Plus/Minus Ten (10) years varied work experience across reputable organizations.
- Proven experience in business development or sales roles
- Strong understanding of the local market and industry trends
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build and maintain client relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales targets.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and a high sense of timeliness and accuracy
- Ability to work under pressure and within strict deadlines.
- Experience in a leadership or managerial will also be an advantage
